Sand flowers and leafs

Posted by bob in bean

 Daddy

Sand flowers and leafs

Jellyfish are flowing

Flowers are pittering down from the sky

Rain makes everything glittery

Steam makes you hot when you have flowers

You make everything great for me daddy

and I love when you give me kisses

I want for you tonight to bring me something that you like

I love you daddy

joe is growing

Posted by bob in pod

a lot.  he’s probably 9 pounds by now, has had his first set of shots, and is generally doing very well.  he sleeps, eats, and excretes, which as a parent is more exciting than it ought to be, but what it means to us is he’s growing and healthy : )

beck and bean and pod (in utero)

bean and i went to the beach, in lancing.  it was great.  we swam a little, built some sand castles (bean built about 10 of ‘em, with rocks) and just relaxed.  she has such a great time, she was shouting at the top of her lungs “I LOVE THIS PLACE AND THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER”.  i love to see her so happy and expressive, she is very LOUD but i think that’s because she’s very ENGAGED.  she just kills me, she does.

what have i done?

not much, really.  it will be interesting to see what we come up with, though.

“i had a good day”

Posted by bob in bean

“i didn’t hit anyone.”

that’s what bean told becky when becky picked her up from school yesterday. apparently, some kid at school named harvey  ‘punched her in the stomach’ at some point, and she’s retaliated, but didn’t feel the need to yesterday.

sometimes, i worry.  and laugh : )

rainbow horse!

bean’s faaaavorite.  we have to watch her closely.  she’s like, bean’s national treasure or something.  life stops if she gets left somewhere, like nanna’s.  bean still chews her feet a little sometimes.

hedgehog poop

have been pooping in my garden. i think one might be camped out under the summer house in the back. seeing as that’s where most of the poop is. becky put some milk and bread out for it the other night, but i am not sure if that’s what they like to eat. it’s eating something, though, judging from the piles of poo all over the place.

i hate electric lawn mowers. i always pitied anyone i saw using one in the US, as it was almost always some old lady with varicose veins, white socks, and green PF flyers who would actually stoop to using one. but it’s de rigueur here in the UK. i have a flymo. it’s supposed to hover. what it actually does is, like, wobble and scrape the squidgy lawn vegetables that pass for turf. and hedgehog poop. anyway.

ghost squirrels

.ghost squirrel

have come back to bother jim. it looks pretty peeved and vengeful to me. i’d be careful out in the yard if i were you.

then again, maybe it’s like the white buffalo, but it’s the white squirrel instead.  a harbinger of things to come.  better offer it a peanut, just in case.

kites

Posted by bob in kites

are going to be my obsession this summer.  i just know it. bean and i built one and beck, bean and i went down to the beach and flew it.  we made it out of bamboo, wrapping paper, string, and trash bags.  it was kinda wobbly but then it kind of broke a little and flew just great.

i wanna build a giant one out of pvc and tyvek and fly it really really high.  will post pics of progress… .
